What is an absentee voting certificate

An absentee voting certificate granting the right to vote is issued to a voter who, on the day of voting, 23 August 2026, will be outside their place of registration. The certificate allows voting at any polling station in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

How and where to obtain it

An absentee voting certificate may be obtained from the relevant precinct or territorial election commission at the place of registration within the time frames established by the Calendar Plan of Main Activities. When obtaining it, an identity document must be presented.

A voter who has obtained an absentee voting certificate is removed from the voter list at the place of registration and included in the list at the polling station where they will vote on election day.
